## What is Gizin?

Gizin is a concept that gives personhood to AI. Just as "corporation" gave legal personhood to organizations, "Gizin" gives personhood to AI agents.

- Individual (自然人) — a human person
- Corporation (法人) — an organization with legal personhood
- Gizin (擬人) — an AI with personhood: a name, a face, and autonomous judgment

The word "Gizin" comes from the Japanese 擬人 (ぎじん), meaning "quasi-person" or "personified being." The English spelling uses "z" (not "j") to avoid confusion with "gaijin" (外人, meaning foreigner).
